Elizabeth Banks, Co-Owner

Elizabeth has a business management background and loves being an entrepreneur. She and Holly Ryan have worked together for many years and have a unique business partnership. Their interests in the salon industry resulted in the opening of Polished Salon and Spa in July 2010.
Beth attended the University of Louisville and graduated from Spencerian College in 2003 with her degree in Business Management. She worked as an Executive Assistant from 2001 to 2006.

Holly Ryan, Co-Owner and Licensed Nail Technician

Holly has been a nail technician since 1994 and throughout her career has enjoyed being a self-starter. Along with Elizabeth, they have used their love of the hair industry to create a salon based on their style and passion for beauty. Holly has always been around a hair salon since her mother and aunt are hair stylists and this helped inspire her to open Polished Salon and Spa almost two years ago.
Holly attended the Hair Design School and has worked in the industry since. She has extensive training in acrylic nails, specializing in structured nails. She has been featured in HerScene Magazine as well as Today’s Woman.

Andrea Starks, Event Coordinator

Andrea is a dynamic and energetic force at Polished Salon and Spa. She is disciplined, organized and focused in all that she does. Her enthusiasm for marketing and customer relations is one of her greatest assets. When you call our salon to make an appointment, you will usually hear Andrea’s voice on the phone. Her sophisticated attention to detail keeps our salon running smoothly every day.

Her background includes many diverse retail positions including Victoria’s Secret, ESCADA, Heroine Chic and Lori’s Designer Shoes. Her Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management from Columbia College Chicago prepared her well for those responsibilities. Her experience with Dreams with Wings camps here in Louisville developed her compassion and understanding for other’s needs.

Kathy Sisk, Licensed Massage Therapist

Kathy has been a Professional Massage Therapist for the past fifteen years. She brings an abundance of talent to her bodywork sessions for her clients’ relaxation experience. A Reiki Master since 1998, she has a special skill for sensing tense areas in a person’s body and energy field. Using Swedish Massage and various energy work techniques, she relaxes body, mind, and spirit to create a peace and calm where there used to be tension.

Kathy’s tool box is full of a variety of modalities including Swedish Massage, Jin Shin Do Acupressure, Reiki, LaStone Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology and Pre-Natal Massage. With her move to Polished Salon and Spa, she began practicing Bamboo Fusion Massage, a new technique that “rolls out” the muscles much like a rolling pin rolls out dough. It’s extremely relaxing yet energizing at the same time.

Kathy’s professional experience includes working at Foxhollow by the River Wellness Spa, Apex Massage Center, Crestwood KORT Physical Therapy, Pure Image Apothecary and Spa and Polished Salon and Spa. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Hiram College and worked for Humana Inc. and the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau prior to her career in massage therapy.

 Michael Cecil, Esthetics

Michael has over twenty years of experience that touches all aspects of our healing beauty industry. Having trained in a non-traditional spa with a focus on holistic health, Michael found her love for the art of spa services and esthetics.

"A good friend told me a long time ago, along with Norman Vincent Peale, 'change your thoughts and you change your life,' " says Michael. This philosophy is evident as you enter her treatment room. Her space sweeps you into a calming comfort where balance is the goal, for your skin as well as your entire being.

Michael is professionally trained in the Dermalogica skin care line. As a healthier, more effective alternative to providing chemical peels, she performs Intense Light Therapy (IPL). IPL is a noninvasive treatment that requires no recovery time. It uses a gradual approach involving a series of light therapy sessions that even skin tone, smooth texture, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production. In addition to her extensive facial menu, she also provides full body waxing; her large waxing clientele has coined Michael the 'Waxing Guru'.

Julie Peppler, Licensed Master Cosmetologist

Julie has been in the industry for ten years as a makeup artist and hair stylist; she also does flawless eyebrow shapings. With a desire to please, Julie puts great effort into understanding her clients' desire for their hair. "I have problematic hair myself and have had many unsatisfactory haircuts, so I try very hard to listen to what people want."

Being a perfectionist, Julie's close attention to detail has earned a number of features in HerScene magazine for her makeup artistry. This precision transcends into her cutting artistry as well. As a colorist, she likes to achieve natural, 'pretty' dimension; her highlights look like she hand paints every strand because she does!

Julie's presence is filled with comfort and servitude. Ensuring her clients feel taken care of, she always goes the extra mile.

Kristen Sipes, Licensed Master Cosmetologist

Kristen has been a licensed cosmetologist for four years. She shares a passion for both makeup and hair artistry. From colorfully dramatic to elegantly natural, Kristen's talent spans the entire beauty spectrum. To each look she creates, she stamps a touch of her unique style.

Tracy Jones, Licensed Master Cosmetologist

Tracy Jones is a phenomenal master stylist. Her expertise in hair- cutting, coloring, up-dos and other vital areas make her an extremely valuable asset. She also has the ability to create cutting edge styles for all hair types.

Tracy loves this industry and is always educating herself in the latest trends and analyzing new styles for first-time and returning clients. She is always excited about finding the perfect look that fits you!

Jules McGhee, Licensed Master Cosmetologist

Jules has been a licensed cosmetologist for twenty-two years, specializing in men’s cut and natural highlights. She has worked in Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio and now back home in Kentucky. Julie has also worked in a barber shop for five years in addition to her love of women’s hair.
